When it happens
Section titled “When it happens”An email code, authenticator code or backup code does not match, or a social sign-in or account connection was
finished with a token that is no longer valid. An email code can be tried 5 times: the fifth wrong code already returns
verification_failed instead of this code. Authenticator and backup codes have no such cap. Failed codes count toward the lockout (see identifier_locked).
What to do
Section titled “What to do”Ask for the code again. After a social sign-in error, start the sign-in again.
